About Me and FAQish

Greetings and Salutations.

Welcome to the world of me. First, an introduction. My name is Mike and I’m a librarian. This is my site. I have opinions. I put my opinions here in only the most barely ordered of fashions. So far my topics of interest include Linux and open-source software, professional wrestling, politics (generally Canadian), and random spoutings of wisdom that I’m sure you needed to know but never really thought about. Admittedly my online self is more of an avatar than an accurate representation but that is the nature of the medium. I no longer expose my inner most thought and feelings in an open manner. It cost me a job.

What’s with the Government Information?

In September of 2005 I decided that my hobby of finding neat little bits of government information needed to be shared with the entire world. I include a link and a small annotation if the title is not blindingly obvious.

Exceptionality Online???

There can be no such concept called humility when you have a blog. You are right. If you are not right then you are wasting people’s time and bandwidth. So I will no doubt occasionally shift towards the realm of hubris but it is far safer to believe I have something worthwhile to say instead of pretending I have no right to be here at all.

That would be my wife. It’s part of her email address and yes I made the joke that she’s angellic enough times to get both a sigh and a slight smack.

Freya

Freya is a little cat who showed up on our back porch one day yammering at us that it was time to feed the cat. A thousand dollars and dozens of vet trips later and we have an adorable pet who loves us and is loved in return. She still yammers whenever she feels we’re neglecting her (aka haven’t petted her in over an hour).

Oh and I like dogs. If you don’t like it go poke your eye out with a potato.
