It is a distinct possibility that my existing but not really hard drive is starting to fail. I booted into PCLinuxOS to see if I could change the partitions and got read errors. Fine. I have a screwy hard drive.
This morning it failed to boot properly, specifically it seems to have lost various portions of Xorg. At least I think it has. I’m not fighting with it right now. I’m hoping that leaving it alone for the day will prompt it to act normally.
I’m not high on that but after a night of going to bed cold and failing to stay warmed up once I leeched enough heat from the wife, being woken up at 5 a.m. by a loving sweetheart of a cat body-checking the door for attention, and other various lack of good sleep aids I find that I am not in the mood to mess with a dying hard drive.
I just wish there was a way to save all my flagged items from Akregator. That’s the only thing that will be lost if I do a copy/paste of my hard drive contents. Unless of course the lazy web comes to my aid.
